A major new study from TapInfluence found that social media influence marketing is 11X more effective than banner ads. This means social media accounts with a wide following aka “influencers” are highly sought after by companies looking to reach targeted consumers that are “in the know”.
This dynamic simply means that advertising budgets are exponentially flowing to social media-based campaigns. According to a 2015 study by eMarketer, Instagram’s global mobile ad revenues are expected to close in on nearly $3 billion by 2017. That figure would account for over 10% of the revenue of Facebook, its parent company.
